At the conclusion <if the public meeting called for the purpose of arranging a memorial service for Friday, in connection with the King's death, a resolution of sympathy with the bereaved relaives of the miners who lost their lives in tho Whitehaven colliery disaster, England, was carried, • and it was decided to open subscription lists in the town and mining districts on behalf of the bereaved, and also to take up a collection for the same purpose at the conelusion of Friday's memorial service, which ie to bo held in Victoria Square.
