Council claiming .£2BO dam- s ases in connection with a contract for ' the re-«rection of the Pohangina Bridge. * At the Police Court this morning, be- ' fore Mr. A. D. Thomson, S.M., a man named Joseph Welsh, who has onlv been in the) Dominion about eighteen months, ' was sentenced to-three months' hard la- ? bour on a charge of being a vagrant. H ' J. Woodfield, for allowing horses ' to J ■vander at large, was fined .£3 and costs ? :!Bs. Frederick Klein, restaurant-keeper '• charged John Dillon with assaulting him l with a tomahawk.
