MEETING AT PALMERSTON. IBy Teugrtph.—Special Correspondent.! ' Palmerston, May 13.
A meeting of the council of the New Zealand -Jersey. Cattlo .Breeders' Association, was held at-the Manawatu A. and P.' Association's- office this afternoon. Present: Messrs. J. A. M'Crea (chairman), S. R. Lancaster, A. Buchanan, F E. Watson, W. H. Booth, and E. Eagle, jun. Tho following new members were elected:—Messrs. Stanley Shaw, New Plymouth; W. Cantehn, Okaiawa; G. H. Foote, Fedding; P. E. Hillyer, Dunedin; J. Hunt, Richmond; T M'Kenzie, Carnarvon; E. N. Nixon, Wanganui;:. J.- Short, - ; Okanwa; and Vickors'arid Hazleton, Midhirst. Reports of tests of three cows under the seven-flay trial were received from Mr. H. Watson, Canterbury , It was decided to hold . the annual meeting at New Plymouth.in July, and to suggest an alteration in the rules, and provide for the election of five members to tho council instead of three as at present. Other routine business was transacted.
Tho fat bullock with which Mr. P. W Pairey, of Nelson, gained second prizo at the Sydney Royal Show wa ß purchased by a Wangarratta farmer, who purposes exhibiting it at various shows in New South Wales and Victoria. •
