The Nary votes will be the first business taken when Parliament reassembles on Juno 8. The Estimates will follow.Genoral satisfaction is expressed regarding Mr. Asquifch's decision to appoint a Select Committeo in June to proparo proposals for settlement of the Civil List. "The Times" states that Ministerial circles recognise that it is necessaTy to pass the Budget for the current year, and probably the introduction of the Lords' veto resolutions in the House of Lords will be delayed for a few weeks after the reassembly of Parliament, if not for a longer season. The "Pall Mall Gazette" (Unionist), commenting' on the Government's decision to postpone the reassembling of, Parliament until June 8 instead of May 26, says this is the first. indication of the Government's recognition that public sentiment favours a truce between the opposing political parties. The paper adds: "We have authority for stating -that a movement towards a compromise has been made in the proper quarters _by' those whoso moderation and detachment from the recent controversial debates qualify them to discuss a basis of settlement."
