Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report aa follows:—At tho Palmerston North sale yesterday a fair entry of both sheen and cattle came forward. Quotations:— Sheep: Empty ewes, ss. Id., ss. lid. to 7s. 7d.; 4-year ewes, to 9s. Bd.; forward wethers, to 13s. 9d.; ewes in lamb,, to lls. 3d. Cattle: Springing cows, £l 12s. to £4; fat cows. £3 13s. to £3 16s(; springing heifers, tb £4 15s.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. reportt-At Palmerston, on Thursday, we had a moderate entry of sheep and a. very heavy yarding*of cattle. Sheep generally were of indifferent anal-, ity, and were' inclined to drag. Cattle sold well, although, , in some cases, tho high reserves "prevented business. The special entry on account of Mr. Oarr sold well. Wo quote:—Sheep: Aged ewes in lamb, Bs.; store' ewes, ss. 6d.to 6s. Bd.; for-, ward.ewes, lls.. to 12s. lid.; cull lambs. 4s. fd. Cattle: Small weauers, ■ 205.; good weaners, heifers, £2; aged store cows, 28s. to £2 2a. 6d.;, storo cows,. £2 Wβ.; forward cows, £3 10s. to £4 45.; forward cows, £4 17s. 6d.; springing cows, £7_ 10s.; 20-month steers, 31s. 7d.; good conditioned; well-grown . 2-year steers. -£4' '155.; 2k and 3-year steers; '£5 12s. 6d.; forward bullocks. £6 to £6 19s. 6d.; bulls, £3 to £4 7s. 6d. The Now Zealand Loan and -Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report holding their Taihapo horse fair on May 10; with 130 horses, all offered by the owners of the Moawbango, Erewhoa, and Oruamatua Stations. These sold under the .hammer at'satisfactory'prices. -Buyers, from Auckland, Hawera,' and Waikato were present,, and operated .freely.. They expressed appreciation of the'class of horses'offered, which they considered above the averaec.
The New Zealand Loan and Merqantilo Agency Co., reporting on their Mangawcka sale, held on May 11, state that there was a fair yarding of both sheep and cattle, and prices were up to full present market • values. .. Cattle, were, of exceptionally good duality throughout, particularly a line of 24-year Hereford steers, bred and Bold, by Mr. J. D. M'Gregor. Tho line was very much admired, and was knocked down at £5 7s. 6d., after keen competition. Prices wore as follow:— lambs, 7s. 6d.; ewe lambs, Bs. to 95.; wether lambs, 75.; mixed weaners, 28s. 6d. to 48s. 6d.; 18-month heifers, 535. 6d.; 4year bullocks. £6 2s.
