At a conference between the Nonconformist clergy of Palmerston and' the . Mayor (Mr. J." A. Nash) it was decided to . hold a memorial service on the day of the King's funeral. The Mayor stated that he liad received word from Sir. Joseph Ward suggesting that a public service should be held on the day of the funeral. It; was decided to fall in with the Premier's request, and to hold the service in the Square rotunda. The Pallnciston and Salvation Army to be invited +0 take part, and there will also be present the Territorials, Boy Scouts, Cadets, veterans, fire brigade, and friendly societies. The following programme lias been arranged:—Funeral March (Beethoven) band; hymn, "Abide With Mo"; Lord's Prayer, led by Adjutant Hnywooil; hymn, "Lead Kindly. Light"; address, l'ev. D. Hild; liyinn, "Nearer, My God. to Thee , '; Bible .rending, I'snlm xo.. Rev. T. T. Thomas; hymn, "0 God, our help in ages past"; address. Rev. G. W. J. Spence; prayer, Pastor Christensen; closing hymn, "For ever with the' Lord"; benediction. Rev. V. Jf'Donald: Dead March, band.
