LABOUR OBJECTIVE. NEED OF PUBLIC EDUCATION. By Telof raph— Press Melhourno, May 12. Mr. J. C. Watson (an ex-Labour Prime Minister), declared that the objective 'of both the Federal and State Labour parties was Socialism, but ho wished to protest against the spirit and propaganda of extreme Socialists.
Tlie world was not at present ripe for Socialism; if it could be brought, about to-morrow it would drop of its. own weight. The people must l>o educated to a fuller sense of civic responsibility bofore it could bo possible.
