THE GRAND LODGE. COMMUNICATION CLOSED. The ■ communication of the Masonio Grand Lodge of New Zealand was concluded yesterday. M.W. Bro. Griffiths, the newly-installed Grand Master, presided. The following were appointed trustees — of Grand Lodgo for the period of the location of the secretary's office in Wellington:—M.W. Brq. 11. J. Williams, R.W. Bro. R, Fletcher, T.W. Bro. A. L. Herdman, and W. Bros. H.- Seaton and A. V'eitch. . ■ W. Bro. Jolly moved to reverse the decision", of the Auckland communication of two years ago, which provided that in case a petition for a charter for a new lodge did not receive the recommendation of the Master and Wardens of one of. the two. nearest lodges, the matter could be brought up and dealt with by Grand Lodge, .and to revert to the former system, whereby thw ■recommendation of one of,the two nearest!' lodges should be indispensable. After considerable discussion, the mo-4 tion was agreed to, with an alteration to the effect that the recommendation, reqnired was that of the sponsor lodge ' as a body, expressed by resolution. " J. he question of automatic exolusioi* of members in arrears with their dues was, after debate, ; referred to the Board of General Purposes for consideration.! The brethren of the Wellington dis-' trict were accorded a hearty vote of thanks for their cordial entertainment ' of visitors, together with an expression of regret at the sad circumstances which} had necessitated the curtailment of their programme. . . Another hearty vote of thanks vra» passed to M.W. Bro. his Excellency Lord Plunket for the valuable services he had rendered to the craft during his four ' years of Grand' Mastership.
