THE NAPIER' BRJ3AEWATEK CASUALTY. (By Teleeraph—Press Association.) Napier, Hay 11. ■ An adjourned inquest on Henry Holland, who was swept off tho breakwater wharf and drowned on April 26, was held to-day, when a verdict of "accidentally drowned" was returned, with a rider that up till April 24 the life-saving appliances were in good order and well found, but had been partially, damaged through the storm of that night, and that there, was no delay in the rescue work.

MOTOR-CYCLE FATAWTY. , Hastings, May 11. W. Eobin, a Native, while riding a motor-cycle on .Saturday night, collided with a trap. The shaft struck his breast and passed under the armpit, badly lacerating and breaking, a rib. liobin was removed to a private hospital, but died at nine this morning. '<

Mr. M'Cartby, coroner, conducted an inquest at Hastings this afternoon. The coroner found that deceased met his death consequent ■on injuries received whilst riding a motor cycle on Heretaunga Road on May 7, which cycle collided with a springcart. Tho coroner further found that the collision happened at 7 p.m.,land that the cycle had no lights, and was travelling at a rate of not less than 20 miles an hour, deceased being at the time under the influence of liquor. Mr. M'Carthy added another finding: That disregard of the law by persons driving all.' manner of vehicles in Hastings and vicinity was a serious menace to those using the highway, and called for increased vigilance by the police.

WEST COAST ACCIDENTS. Greymouth, May 11. A very sad death occurred at Runanga State mine yesterday, when Mrs. Brown (nee Heron) died in a n't. Deceased was only married on Saturday last, and was a native of Greymouth. Sho was well known and highly respected. . A mini named Frank Wordsley was killed by train on Tuesday evening at Katnata," between Eeefton and Greylnbuth. His body was discovered this morning. An inquest will bo held today.

The inquest on Charles Beemer occupied the Court all day. At the conclusion of the evidence the jury desired to visit the scene of the accident, and the inquiry was adjourned till the 17th to enable them to do so.
