MOAWHANGO DOG TRIALS.
Tho Moawliango dog trials were held last week (telegraphs our Marton correspondent), and attracted record entries and a large attendance. Hawke's Bay was strongly represented, and entries came forward from all parts of the North Island. Mr. W. M'Kiunon, of Hawke's Bay, acted as judge. The results were as follow: — Head' away and bring back —R. Pirie's Bruce, 1; A. Fletcher's Sweep, 2; Mrs. Dowdall's Sam, 3; Miss Borthwick's Don, 4; P. G. L. M'Kenzio's Lad, 6. There were 43 entries. In this event the special prize for the fastest head went to Mr. Fletcher's Sweep.Heading and yarding—R. Pirio's Bruce, 1; A. Fletcher's Sweep, 2; Miss Cotterill'B York, 3; Miss Fergusson's Tui, 4; F. R. Cotterill's TipiiiM, 5. Twenty-eight dojjs were entered. Hunt away trial—A. Malcolm's Joe, 1; B. Stalker's Dudine, 2;'W."Bbrthwick's'Nell, 3; F. .R. Cotterill's Lad, 4; P. G , . L..M'Kenzie,'s..: There were thirty-seven entries^
