Borough Council for a loan to the Council of which particulars are as follow:— AMOUNT.—The amount which is required and which the Council is authorised to raise under the- provisions of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908," and its amendments is .£134,250. PURPOSES.—The money is to be appKod to the several purposes authorised by the ratepayers at a poll held on 30th June last, namely.— £ Electric Tramways and Lighting 35,000 Drainage Works ..._ 35,000 Municipal Building 25,000 Road Formation ...; 15,500 Waterworks and Destructor 15,000 Borough Park 5,000 Boundary Roads 2,750 . i Fire Station • 1,000 £134,250 INTEREST—Not exceeding £4 10s. per centum. This is the MAXIMUM authorised by the ratepayers. SINKING FUND.—Ten. shillings per centum. SECUEITY.-An annual special rate of 16 pence in the £ on the annual rateable value of all property in the Borough, such rate to be an annually recurring rate until the loan is repaid: DEBENTURES will be issued to the lender under "The Local Bodies' Loans Act," repayable on 30th June, 1944, secured on the said special rate.
The annual rateable value of all property in the Borough of Napier for the present year is .8114,000, ithich is an increase of iEtOOO on the previoue year's valuation. . Tenderers are specially requested to note that the Council prefers to and will be prepared to receive the money by equal quarterly, half-yearly, or annual instalments extending 'over a period of three , years, and so that interest will begin to run on &ch instalment on the date when it is received by the Council. Tenderers aro requested to state on what date they will be prepared to pay over tho first instalment, and to set out fully tho terms .on which they are prepared to advance the money. Tenders must be sent in sea-led packets addressed to the Town Clerk and marked "Borough Loan," and must be in the hands of the said Town Clerk not later than Noon on MONDAY, the 16th day of May, 1910. A special meeting, of the Council will bo held immediately afterwards to open and consider tenders. The Council shall not be bound necesearilv to accept any tender. Dated the sth day of May, 1910.
