EVANDALE. FOE LONDON. Saturday's arrivals included tho Scales chartered •steamer Evandale from Lyttelton, but as it was dark when she reached port she remained in tho stream until yesterday morning, when she berthed at, King's Wharf. About 1200 bales woolare to bo lifted to-day by tho Evandale. and she will then, sail for London, via Las Palmas. While at Timaru. the vessel loaded about 1000 bales, wool and 28,000 sacks grain-- llcr Lyttelton loading included 383 bales wool, 17.000 saclta grain and a small Quantity of peas, so that she will be a.full shin when she leaves tonight. ■ The Evandale is a steel screw steamer of 3775 tons'cross, built in 1895' by C. Counell and-Co., of Glasgow. For a considerable period she was engaged trading between Calcutta, and the. Persian Gulf, but has at other times been tramping in different parts of the world. ' During the Newcastle coal strike Gho brought a shipment of coal from Calcutta to Sydney for tho Government, and after discharging that cargo, was lying idle at Sydney for some months before being chartered.
