The palmerston backs' were superior to tho Yellow rearguard, but the forwards lacked the'paco and bustling ability of tho Feilding pack. In the- first spell there was no. score, and. nothing to chooso between the two teams, but Feildinc had tho bettor of tho second hnlf, although tho Whito backs .stood up to the rushes in grand stylo.
