WOOL, HIDE, AND TALLOW SALES.

Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd.:-We report having held our fortnightly sale of wool, skins, hides, and tallow yesterday afternoon before the usual attendance of buyers. Catalogues showod smaller offerings than usual, but keen competition was the rule of the day, and all lots sold at full values. Wool: Prices were on a oar with last rales. Bidding was keen for everything offered, and prices for .wool and skinß nilod on a par with last sale,, whilst cow hides showed a rise of Jd. to id,. ,per lb., ox remaining on same level. Wool: Rough crossbred, 73(1.; coarse lambs. 7id. to Bd.; :iienes, 41d.; seedy crutchings, sd. Skins: Half-wool coarse, 6!d.; medium,, 7d.; lino, 73d.; coarse lambs, 7Jd.; inferior-and dead, 3d. to 4jd.; o.uartcr-wools, 6d.; butchers' half-dry and green, extra heavy, realised from 6s. 7d. to 75.; good weights, ss. 4d., ss. 7d., ss. Bd.: lighter. 4s. Id. to 55.; light, 3s. 7d.; woolly lambs, 55.; shorn lambs, Zs. 7d. to 3s. 2d. Hides: The hides offered aid not appear to best advantage, owing to damp weather; ao heavy ox offered. Messrs. Murray, Roberts, and Company:— Wo offered a catalogue of 2000 skins and about 150 hides and calfskins to a good attendance of buyers. Bidding was very brisk, and hides showed an advanco of an eighth of a penny per lb. on last sale's prices, whilst skins were about par. Prices realised as ' under:—Wool: Small offering. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantilo Agency (Jo., Ltd., report as follows:—At our sales we submitted a fair catalogue of wool, consisting largely of crutchings, which, taking condition into consideration, sold well at from 53d. to 6d. for lots fairly free from seed, and from Sd. to 5Sd. for seoay lots. All wool was in good demand. Thero was a good demand tor skins, hides, and tallow at late rates.
