Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report:— At our Palmerston North sale yesterday there was a fair yarding of sheep, and an exceptionally good yardfcs of cattle, chiefly good-coloured, good-conditioned steers. All lines wero eagerly competed for, and practically all were cleared. Sheep: Mixed lambs, 6s. 3d.; wether lambs, »o 7s. 7d.; empty ewes, 75.; forward ewes, to Bs. 9ii.; small two-tooth ewes. 9s. 10d. Cattle: 132 two and a half-year, £4 135.; 103 two and a. half to three-year 'Steers, =•.4 165.; 30 and 20-month steers. £3 17b. 6d.; four-year bullocks. £6 10s. to £6 15a.; fat and forward bulloclte.-to £7: 20-monthß steers, £3 165.; 28 and two and a half-year steers, £3 19s. 6d.; 18-months steers, £3 Iβ.; empty heifers. £3 3s. 6d.; forward cows, .«3 155.; lisht fat cows. £5. A line of nice Jersey cross heifers realised £9 Is.
Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., renort:—At our Palmerstoa North sale ou Thursday a good" entry of sheep came forward, consisting chitfly of aged ewes and store lambs, for which the demand was not particularly keen. The bulk of ■<o yarding, however, changed hands at satisfactory prices. A fair entry of cattle also sold readily. We quote:—Forward wethers, 14s. Ud.; fat ewes, 12s. lid.; fourtooth to f.ni. ewes in lamb, 9s. 9d.; aged ewes in lamb, 6s; to 7s. 6d.; store ewes. ss. ">A. to ; 75.; cull ewes. 3s. 10d. to 55.; fat lambs, 9s. 3d.; store lambs, ss. to 65.: cull lambs, 2s. 6d. to 4s. id.; forward cows, £1 3s. to £Z 175.; store cows, JBK 55.: dairy cows in calf, £5 to £6.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company. Ltd., report as follows:— At Himatangi, on Monday, wo had a fair entry of both sheep and cattle. A good demand existed, and all lines were soldH auction. At Raumai, on Tuesday, wo ntrain had a good entry, and bidding throughout was brisk, resulting in a total clearance. At Palmerston, oa Thursday, wo had a good entry of sheep, and a, heavy yarding of cattle. The bulk of the cattle comprised forward bullocks, and numerous buyers were present.
