The weather. still continues too oold for tho perfect enjoyment of bowls, which is strictly a warm weather game in this part , of the world. Thorndon' defeated Newtown for tie Edwin Feathers, and, consequently, retain the coveted trophy for the season. One of the most remarkable features of this competition was the firm grip retained on the foathers by Tom Lock's team from the Te Hiwi Club,, which, were the competition judged on the number of wins, would easily be the winners. Perhaps this would be the most satisfactory manner of adjusting this competition, as at present one team might win every match, excepting the last, which would debar thom from holding the trophies during the off-season. • Thorndon s winning team was; Conlin, Dixon, Mason, and Munro (s.). ' JUNIOR PENNANTS. The Junior - Pennants were won by Victoria, after a ding-Jong game with Newtown, the issue being, left in doubt fight up to the last heaa.
