They then left, and said that tiiay would go to Slattery's house, because an attempt had been made previously to set it on fire. Slattery had a double-barrelled gun with bini, andj. on tho inspector's recommendation, left it at. tho polico station, where it remained for sonio days. Tho inspector did not .know, that Jl'Minn had a revolver, aiid tho evidence showed that it bad been lent.tohim after; ho left tho polico station. Both M'Minn and Slattory ,wero quite sober when the .inspsctor saw them in the. morning.
