(London) of March 18 states -.—The arrangements for the Anglican General Mission in New Zealand, which. ,is : to ,-tak.e place this year;, are now completed.- The mission is : uncler the direct sanction of the General Synod ;of' the Province of New Zealand, aud the whole cost, estimated at £3000, is. beiiig borne by 'New Zealand Churchpeople. , A committee consisting of /Bishop Montgomery (chairman), Canons Body, Stuart, Aitkeri, Walpole, Revs. A.-'W. Robinson and Harold Anson (lion, see.), were asked by the bishops of New Zealand to organise the business of tho mission in England, . and to select twelve mis-, sioners to bold missions throughout New Zealand, and two additional expert missioners to prepare! tho Way for tho mission. The Archbishop of, York and. tho Bishop, of. Labium were reluctantly obliged' to r give up their places on tho committeo,. to which thoy, were' nominated' on accepting their present positions. Canon Pollock, of Rochester, and the; Rev. H. A. Kennedy, vicar of Horbury, ate now in New Zealand preparing the way for . tho mission. They hope to arrive in England towards tho olid of June, in timo to meet the twelve missioners before these latter sail for New Zealand. ■■ ' • .;. ' The. following twelve missioners have accepted, the invitation of the committee to' conduct the; mission in. New- Zealand.:—Canons'E. A. Stuart.and Ivens, Prebondary E. A. Stuart, the. Revs. J. C. Fitzgerald,' A. .B. Lillingston, T. Rees, A. D. Tupper-Carey, Cyril Hepher, C. de Cartaret, J. J. G. Stockley, C. T. Horan, and H. R. Farrer. These twelve missioners will be aided by clergy of tho New Zealand and, Australian Church, specially invited by tho bishops of New Zealand for this work. The missioners will leave England'in 'July, and the mission will begin about September 1, and will last until about December 1. Tho missioners hope to bo in England about tho latter part of January next. , Tho Archbishop of York has appointed the Rev. A, D. Tupper-Carey, rector of Lowestoft (one of the missioners), to the prebendal stall and residentiary eanonry of York Minster, vacant by the death of tho Bishop of Hull. The new. canon will be canon-commissioner, devoting himself specially to the'work of parochial and foreign missions. ' He will resign his.benefice, in Lowestoft in time to permit of a successor being appointed before his departure for New Zealand. Ho will be absent about three months, and upon returning to England will take up his work at York. Mr. Tupper-Carey was a contemporary of the.Archbishop of York at Oxford. He was ordained deacon at Ripon in 1890, and priest in 1892. From 1890 to 1898 he was one of tho curates at Leeds Parish Church, and in tho latter year was appointed Head of tho Christ Church Mission, Poplar, where He re-' mained until 1907, when he was presented to the rectory of Lowestoft by. the Bishop of Norwich. Although he has. been in the important fishing port for so short a time, Mr. Tupper-Carey has done much for tho Church life of the town, and particularly for the smacksnien.
