TO-DAY'S ELECTIONS.
Citizens should bear in mind that it is their privilege and duty today to record their votes in favour of one of the two candidates for tho City Mayoralty. Attempts have been made to obscure the issue in various ways—eVon aB we write a leaflet, issued apparently at the last minute in the interests of Mb, Wilfobd's candidature, is before us, in which it is sought to c.onvey the impression that the contest is ono botween the city and Miramar. We cannot believe that any large number of citizens arc likely to be fooled by such transparent devices; but all right-thinking people must deplore and resent their adoption. The issue ia a simple one. Which of the two candidates do the people of Wollington think will make the better Mayor, or which of tho two' candidates is in the better position to servo the interests of the city 1 To us it appears, quite clear that the advaDMgce lie with Ma. Oiuwroaoj
and that the city would act wisely in allowing their choice to fall on him. The women of Wellington will probably be the. deciding factor in to-day's contest. They are expected to poll strongly for Mit. Chawfoed in all parts of the city. We sincerely hope that this will be the case.
