PLITE KECOVEBEIs. , FOUND IN STEAMER'S BTJNKERS. A little further light was thrown yes.terday on the recent robbery from the steamer Mooraki, when the police ceived advice that the silverware stolen from Miss Ethel Miles, whose" cabin was robbed when the young lady was bound from Wellington ,to Sydney by the Moerald, on her way to Europe, had been recovered. The silver ware, which formed a valuaHe portion of Miss Miles's .belongings, has been, found in the bunkers of the steamer. The valuables wero hidden in a recess,' and had been covered over by several hundred tons of coal. After the coal had been removed, a further search.of the vessel was made as a result of information received by tho police, and the silverware was located. The dressing-case which was stolen. contained jewellery, silverware, and .£2O in money, the total value , of the whole outfit being, about .£l2O. . In addition to the silverware just found, the police had already recovered the following articles:—One- gold necklace, one turquoise necklace, one gold and tin quoise "bangle, one gold and pearl bangle, one gold cablo bangle," one gold gartei bangle, one gold and pearl brooch, one turquoise and poarl tie pin, one gold ring, one gold ring sot with opals and diamonds, one suit case, one silver-mounted hair brush, one silver-mounted nnrroi, one silver shoo horn, one silver, button hook, ono silver-mounted clothes brush, one silver-mounted hat whisk, ono manicure set, one silver powder box, one sil-ver-mounted powder box, one silver jewel box, one silver hatpin stand, one silver hairpin box, one silver-mounted bottle, one silver box, one motor veil, one bottle of scent, one pair of gloves, one bottle of polish, two books, sundry papers. The only articles which the police have not recovered are the dressing-case itself and the cash. Joseph Walker, ivho stands charged with the theft of the valuables, will -appear at the S.lf. Court to-day to ansirer the charge.
