BUTTER GRADING.
RECOMMENDATIONS TO FEDERAL ' : 'GOVEENMENT. By Teleffraph—Preas Association—OoDirliht. (Eeo. April 26, 11.15 p.m.)' Melbourne, April 26. Mri'.-N. C. r Lockyer, Assistant troller-General of Customs, has furnished a report ,on the Federal Government's supervision of the butter export trade. . The kernel of the report is a straightout demand for compulsory grading. Mr. lockyer declares that it is impossible to raise the Australian butter industry to a high level without it. He suggests that it is probable that with the. increasing perfection of grading, a greater quantity of butter would be marketed from Australia. ■ , ■■'■ ■ , The report also reeemmends Federal supervision of butter factories and a charge of one farthing u box for grading. ; . .; ~: ...',; ..; .
