Southeasterly winds, strojig to gale, .have pre-, vailed, with heavy rain on the East Coast porth of Kaifamra, and; in Cook. Straiti present l indications are for cold and- showcry, weather generally; southerly winds, strong, to gaJe, north of Cook Strait,, and westerly winds, increasing, elsewhere, barometer will probably rise' in : the-north, bni faU again in ' the southern districts.
