The new church; and all the furnishings were now paid for, the schoolroom was let .to the Education Board for an infant "school, and also..fos all kinds of meetings and en--tertainments;-there was a prospect of some compensation for land: which would be required, for the tram,- and there was also the old churchroom setx tion of land available for sale whenopportunity There were also signs of spiritual progress'and renewed church life in the parish. -The parishioners ;had. therefore to be, congratu-' lated on "being in a better position than' ever as far as the ohuren at Wadestown' was -concerned. : He closed 'bjjappealing for the hope and faith which he himself had. He was full of hope as regards the future of St. Luke's. On the ordinary balance-sheet there' was a debit balance, but the Ladies' .Guild had already undertaken to ar- , range for a series of "socials", to wipe. , this off. ■ '■■'■ - ; '

The report of the committee' of' Sti Anne's,: Northland, which has ■ already appeared, in the. press, is also satis-, factory. The General Synod..havinjagreed to the sale of the old church site the proceeds go ; .to St.' Anne's; . The annual reports andbaknee-sheets were read and adopted. Mr. W. Withers, the treasurer of the Church Building Eund, stated that- the account was closed- and everything paid for. It was also mentioned that' all seats in the-church were free'.-
