Riddell and Sons, of Monmbuth/ Oregon, imported a dozen , 'or .fifteen from New Zealand abbut',''a-year ago, there were hardly any Rbmney Marsh sheep.in the United State's.'; : Tho only others in the country were a small bunch of seven or eight owned by the University of Wyoming. l The sheep obtained for Messrs. Riddell wore secured' for them by Mr. David Evans from the- Parorangi flock. Mr. Evans also sent across some Lincolns froni Mr. W. Perry's Penroso flock. The sheep were much admired by those who saw .them in America. Tho breed was'brought prominently under public notice at the last International Show at Chicago; when "30 or, more Hickman rams, imported by the A. J. Knollia Sheep pommission Company, were on view. The rams were mostly dispersed among breeders of!the' Rambquillott,merino for,crossing purposes.. Says' the "American Sheeiibreeder": "Everybody who saw the Romheys at Chicago liked them, and the prediction'that they had before them in this country a bright future was quite general."' '
