A letter was roeoivod. from tho Otago Union asking'that two days sliould be set apart for tho annual meeting of tho union.'' It was docided to inform Otago that if circumstances warranted, and delegates desired it, tho meeting' could be adjourned after tho first day and. continued ne?;t day. An application was received from the West Coast Union for a grant towards the encouragement of the game in tho schools. It was/decided that if a grant for school football is made at the annual meeting the application will be considered! .'.-' • • •.'
. The.New South Wales Union wrotu concerning the negotiations which havo taken place in regard to the proposed visit of the American University team to Australia and New Zealand. Tho team will leave for Australia on May 20, and will consist of 25 players. Tho proposal is to play five matches in New Zealand, two at Wellington ,and ono each at Christchurch, Dunedin, and 'Auckland. The _ matter of dates is to be left to the incoming management committee. . '
_ A letter was also received from the Now South Wales' Union stating 'thai it. desired the .New Zealand Maori team to leave for Australia on May 30. The secretary, of the Maori team wrote intimating that the team wmld leave "on the desired date, this having been agreed to by the committee. The tour will last about six weeks.
It,was.decided that a match should bo played at Wellington on Juno 3 between, the New. Zealand representative team, which is. to visit Australia, and the Wellington-representatives. It was decided to allow the , local union twothirds of the net gate and the New Zealand Union to take, one-third, which is to go to the tour pool.' The ' secretary stated that he had .cabled^ to" Mr. 0. Wray Palliser, representative of the'union-ill'England, asking whether the proposed alterations to the laws of the game sent Home by Mr. Ha'rnett had' been confirmed. A ieply had been received that the alterations had< been:confirmed uy the .International Board, with a few small alterations, and ah additional alteration to Law 14, dealing with sonimmages. • It was decided to advise unions that the alterations already circulated should be put into force forthwith.
Two Canterbury pla3'crs and one residing in Petone, who had been disqualified'for playing the Northern Union game, applied for reinstatement, jit was decided to reply in each case 'that tKo'umdn had no power to-removo the disqualifications.
