LORD SELBORNE.
FAREWELLED IN SOUTH 'AFRICA. By Tclocranh—Press Association—Oopyrleht ■ . Pretoria, April 19. Lord Selborne, who has been High Commissioner for South ■ Africa sinco 1805, and Governor of tho Transvaal since 1907, and who is now leaving for England consequent on the appointment of Lord (Mr. Herbert) Gladstone as first Governor-General of United South Africa, had an enthusiastic send-off from Pretoria. A large crowd assembled to witness his departure, and sang "Auld Lang Syne." At Johannesburg there was also a larg« crowd to bid him farewell, and here again "Auld Lang Syne" was sung. In other places throngh which Lord Selborne passed much enthusiasm was displayed.
