He was accompanied .■ by the Hon.- T. Mackenzie, Minister: for . Agriculture, and the party were welcomed at the railway station by his Worship the Mayor-(Mr. P.!L. Hollings), Mr. A. W. Hogg, M.P., Mr. W.J. Welch (chairman of the Masterton .County Council), Mr: Wv A. Beetham,-'and the Town Clerk, while a guard of honour from tho Masterton Monnted Eifles, under Captain M'Kellop : and Lieutenant. Whittaker, was, drawn,up outside. The .Fifth " Ruahine Battalion' Band was also in'attendance at the Town Hall. The borough councillors were on the stage, while the large attendance of citizens nearly filled the building. After the presenta-, tion of an address his Excellency was entertained at luncheon at the Club Hotel, and during the afternoon, he visited the various institutions of the town. -. AT CAETEETON. (Prom our. Special Correspna.'iente.) Carterton,. April 20, His Excellency the Governor, v Lord Plunket, passed 'through here this morning per train, and during his brief stay was met and welcomed on behalf of the citizens and residents of the district; by Mr. W. C. Buchanan,. M.P., the Mayor (Mr. Armstrong), the Town Clerk (Mr.Jas. Moncrieff),-and several councillors. The Town Clerk read and presented an address to the Governor, who acknowledged the kind sentiments expressed. The High School Cadets, under Captain Miller, formed a guard of honour.
