HATt.rtTTAW, ; An enthusiastic and well-attended meeting of Petone citizens was held in the Mayor's room last evening for the purpose of taking steps to'suitably recognise the services rendered in football and at local functions by Mr. J. W. Hardhom. It was decided to hold a social and dance on May 13, and to present Mr. Hardham with an. illuminated address. A subcommittee was set up to carry out details. LODGE MEETING. r he f ?f mating of the Poneke U.A.0.D., was held - last evening, Bro. Gray,- A.D., presiding. Correspondence, of -which.there was a large amotf nt, was dealt with, and also general. business. "lw bards reported two brothers on the sick fund. One proposition for membership was received. Next lodge night will be ladies' night, and proceedings will take the form of a progressive euohro tournament and music. . HUTT MAYORALTY. . Mr. W.H. Rrasell has been nominated for the Hutt Mayoralty by Messrs. Geo. Bowers, J. Ward, F. J. Penny, and P. Robertson. Mr. Russell will address the electors of Alicetown to-morrow night in tho churchroom, and on Friday evening he will meet the electors of Hutt in the Town Hall. Mr. Russell intends to deal with his opponent's figures.
