FATtt PLAT TO THE NOETH ISLAND .WANTED. ' At a meeting of the . Council of the Wellington \ Chamber of Commerce yesterday a letter was received from Hastings suggesting the formation of a North Island Eailway League, the objects of which would be to see that this island receives justice in the matter of railway expenditure in comparison with the South Island. The suggestion won the sympathy of the council, which decided ,to promise that if action were,taken the chamber would give such assistance as was,in its power. A letter was received from. the town clerk soliciting co-operation in urging the erection of a new und adequate railway station in Wellington, in the terms of a resolution moved by Councillor Devine at the last meeting of the City Council.
