The' chief items were. pork, lard, beef, and oleo. oil. The greatest i exports of pork and lard were in ISOU--1900, and' those , of lard increased nearly eight times as rapidly, as the population '■■The greatest exports of' beef were those :of •, 1901-5, namely, -108 million pounds per annum. 'Since 1905 tnero has been a groat' decrease,; tho annum for 190S-8 bein» only 3i9 million pounds. Those of oleo oil, on the other hand, continued to increase up to the end of 1908. If the. statistics had covered 1909'they'would have shown a great fall in exports of. meat and lard.
