/ QUALITY STILL LOW. , .. 'During the last year there has been a fremtadtiuS increase in the output of gutter "'in Queensland, but the quality does not seem to improve. Last August the Minister for Agriculture, in response to persistent requests from butter manufacturers, agreed to allow a cipher mark Ito be placed on boxes instead of the grade "mark for one year, as an experiment. From August 8 to April 3 the quantity of butter examined for export was 223,175 boxes, , an -increase on the corresppnding period- ofthe previous year of 71,308 boxes. Firstclass butter amounted'to only 26.71-per cont. of the total quantity, whilst sec-ond-class butter increased to over 42 per cent., and third-class to over 26 per cent. ■
