From August 8 to April 3 the quantity of butter examined for export was 223,175 boxes, , an -increase on the corresppnding period- ofthe previous year of 71,308 boxes. Firstclass butter amounted'to only 26.71-per cont. of the total quantity, whilst sec-ond-class butter increased to over 42 per cent., and third-class to over 26 per cent. ■
