Peake, states that the cablegram regarding a loan refers to portions of two loans of half a million each, which were sold 'privately- through Elder, Smith, arid .Company a few weeks ago. The purchasers arc putting the issue on tho market', and .it is not being floated as a South Australian loan at all.' Tl lc Government, Mr. Peake says, is not contemplating floating a loan; it has money, to carry it over many months.
