CHINESE RIOTS.
THE OFFICIALS "CORNER" RICE. FOREIGNERS IN DANGER. By Teleeraph—Press Association—Copyrlebt Peking, April 15. There is serious rioting at Changsha, in the province of' Hunan, owing to officials "cornering" rice. The Wesleyan and two other missions have been destroyed. The British Consulate and the Imperial Maritime Customs offices have been abandoned. • Foreigners, have taken refuge 011 a merchant steamer. A British gunboat is proceeding to the scene. REPORTED KILLING OF THE GOVERNOR. ; (Rec. April 17, 5 p.m.) ■ Peking, April 16. In connection with the rioting at it, is reported that the Governor of Hunan has been killed. ; The position of foreigners is dangerous. • .
