■ SUMMARY AND FORECAST. A westerly area of low pressure of a very unsteady typo has prevailed in the south for a week, and stormy and changeable .weather has been experienced in the far south, and at times farther north. TSo westerly winds have been especially bolstorous in Cook and Foveaui Straits, seas have been heavy on the TVcst Coast, and heavy rain has fallen. No information has been received to-day from south of Kaikoura.
