CONFERENCE AT WAIPAWA. (By Telesrwli.—BDecial Oorren)on«imi.i Walpawa, April 15. The annual conference of the Young Maori Party, southern division, oonimenced t.hin morning at Waipawa wita a good attendance. The president is Mr. J. Thornton, headruaster of Tβ Aute College; and the secretary, the Kev. Pine Tamahori. There were also present. The Rev. A. P.' Williams, the Rev. F. Bennett, the Hon k. T. Ngata, Hemi llapaea, Paul Pohi, D. Elison, W. Puhara, Hori Tupaea; also a considorable ; number of Tβ Aute College students. Apologies for absence were read from the Prime Minister, Ihe Natve Minister, the Minister for Education, the Bishop of Waiapn, Hemi Matenga, and others. The proceedings commenced xith the usual Maori speeches of welcome from : the Waipawa Natives, the hosts of the eonferenc. Addresses were given by Tipene Anata and Ihaia - Hutana, to which the" president and the Rev. .P. Bennett replied. , The president then, delivered his opening address. ' • The Hon. A. T.
