Colonel Pollen, president of the British Esperanto Association, who . has been touring the Dominion, left for Sydpey by the Moana last evening;' to connect with the P. and .0. steamer Morea'at Adelaide for London. Mrs. Waldegrave, wife of Mr. F. Waldegrave (under r Secretary -to the Justice Department), died rather suddenly at Rotorua on Thursday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Waldegrave were on a brief visit to the Hot Lakes district. In the course of a gamo of croquet Mrs. Waldegrave had a paralytic stroke, as a result of which she died a few hours later. Mrs. Wafdegrave was a daughter of. the, late. Mr. Henry. Howarth, barrister, of Wellington. Mrs. Harry Atkinson and Mrs. Sidney Fitzhorbert (who is now on her way to England) are daughters, and Mrs. Amelius Smith, wife of.Mr. Amelius Smith (Secretary of the' Public Service Superannuation Department), is a sister of deceased.
