■ Last year 519 undesirable aliens were expelled from the United Kingdom, as against 358 in 1908. During tho . year, 422,548 alien passengers landed, compared with 399,288 in 1808; but as there were 118,223 transmigrants possessing; through tickets to places abroad, against GI,GBO in tho previous year, the alien immigration for 1909 shows a substantial decrease. '
