THE -WELLINGTON CLUB. The annual report of the Wellington Golf. Club state? that last-year the club made a net gain of 31 members, bringing the roll up to 327, including. 108 ladies (78 players). The revenue account for the past year, shows a credit balance of .£302 18s. 4d. It has been decided by the committee to apply this balance to the. writing-off 'of tho debit balance brought forward from tho previous year, amounting to ..£298 V Bs. id., and carry forward £4 10s. During the year the sum of ,£339 183, .M.-has been expended in improvements, consisting of bunkers, tees, bridges, now buildings, and additional plant 'and-furniture.' The links, are in a very satisfactory state. The incoming committee will require to complete- the 'bunkers by tilling them with sand, and ,in .'some cases enlarging thejn. ''Tho club," adds'the report, "is indebted to Si» 'Jo.Jeph ant! Lady Ward, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh M'Neil, Mr. Wakeford Cox, and captain and officers of H.M.S. Challenger, for trophies presented to the club during the past season. It will bo the duty of the now committee to arrange , the. competitions' for the three last-mentioned trophies, which arrived too late to be playgd for last year." The report will be presonted at the annual meeting next Thursday. At the conclusion of the geper;>.l nieeting there will bo a special meeting to consider a proposal that an additional subscription of £1 Is. should be payable by members desiring" to pluy lawn tennis. The committee is endeavouring to secure a special train for tho opening of tho season pu April 23. ■
