DR. HENRY'S MISSION.
■ ,'. ♦ " The Town Hall was half'. filled last night, when Dr. Henry delivered an evangelistic address, making a personal appeal to those members of the audience who had not hitherto taken a decided Christian stand, to do so that night. Dr. Hem-y's theology and his methods are,of the old school, and Mr. Potts, the singer who accompanies him, makes a telling appeal in the solo which he sings at the end of the address. Mr.. Potts's enunciation is excellent, and he sings with a simplicity that is more effective -than any .'attempt at dramatic impressiveriess would be. A choir of several hundred voices led the singing, and a number of ministers of different denominations were seated on the piatfprm.
Dr. Henry is at present suffering from a very heavy cold, which must make it difficult for him'to speak, at any length, but it in no way interferes with the vigour or the earnestness of his address, and he held the attention of his audience last night right through tho service. • Dr. Henry 'will speak at the Queen's Statue to-day, at .12.10 p.m. Should the weather he wet the meeting for men onlywill be held at the Y.M.C.A. Buildings at 1.10 p.m. This aiternoon, at 3 p.m., Dr. Henry will conduct a quiet hour in Wesley Church.
Dr Henry wa9 to have given an address from the Qneen's Statue yesterday, but the wet weather prevented him from doing so.
Dr. and Mrs. Henry. paid a visit to the Mayor (Dr. Newman) at the Town Hall yesterday.
At the meeting of the Wellington Presbytery yesterday, Dr. Gibb moved that the Presbytery express its deep interest in the evangelistic mission which was being carried on by Dr Henry, and Mr. Potts, and prayed that tho rich and effective blearing of God might rest upon their labours. Dr. Gibb said that he.did not agree with some forms of evangelical effort, but ho was heartily in sympathy, with tho presont mission. The ■ Rev. W. : Shirer seconded, the motion, which was unanimously adopted.
