London, March 3. Mr.. 8,. H. Graham, of New Zealand, has arrived in London, and taken up quarters at the-Waldorf.-Hotel. ;' Miss Margaret Bagnall, of Auckland, left for New Zealand.by the P. and 0. Adams, M.Sc, secretary of the New Zealand Surveyors' Board, has been elected a Fellow of the Boyal Astronomical Society. , ■'..■- ■ ■ Mrs. John Ballance, who has been making an extended visit to England, intends leaving again for-New Zealand on' April 10 by the Kuahine. - Mr. and Mrs. Frank Allen, of Wellington, who arrived some timo back with Mr. Guy and Miss Allen, have decided to remain in England, and are at present residing at West Hampstead, N.W. Mr. Addison Newbould, of Napier, intends . returning to New Zealand in October. He has visited the Continent, done a good deal of motoring in the North of England, and enjoyed excellent hunting, shooting, and boating in Staffordshire. :.•'. ■ Two New Zealanders, both London Hospital'men, and both from Otago University, were included in Scotland's Bugby fifteen against Ireland at Belfast. Thej were A. B. Lindsay (half-back) and D G. Macpherson'(wing three-quarter). Miss L. D. Stubbs, late sister in the Christchurch Public (Hospital, has como here to continue her medical studies. She arrived by the Athenic on February 12, 'and is at present studying for the Central Midwifery certificate under Dr. M'Call, of Clapham. Mr. J. Hemmingway, barrister, of Auckland (N.Z.), has recently arrived in London. Although he is on a holiday' trip, as the result of a breakdown in health, the lectures at the London School of Economics have attracted him, as a new way of spending some of his time while in London. > Mr. G. M. Chapman, the New Zealand Eugby "blue," took part in tho heavyweight competition in the annual, trial of the Cambridgo University Boxing- Club. Chapman won his bout with E. S. Adams, of Trinity Hall, in the.first series, after conceding a good deal in tho matter of height, reach, and weight. In the second round Chapman met C. 0. Lilley, of Jesus College, who had also a distinct pull in height aud reach. Lilley was the smarter boxer, but Chapman has the heavier punch. Tho verdict went to Lilley, but there was little in it. The battle took so much out of the .winner that he .went very weak in the final, and was beaten by Frost, of Trinity.
