. (By Teleeraph—Press Association.) Christchurch, April 11. The locker system was ■ discussed at a meeting convened- by the No-License party, proceedings at times being what lively. The speakers were Mr. T. E. Taylor, M.P., Eov. L. M. Isitt, Mr. Avery, and Mr. Manning. The lastmontioned alleged that Avery was expelled from the Sydenham Working Men's Club for reasons, other than any connected with the locker system. On the motion of Mr.. Taylor, seconded by the Eov. Mr. Isitt, it was resolved: "That this meeting desires to call'the attention of the Government to the abuses existing m connection with the sale of intoxicants at the Sydenham Working Men's Club :as alleged in the public statement of Mr. Avery, a recent member of the club committee, and urges immediate, investigation of the matter by a Stipendiary Magistrate with a view to the charter of the club being cancelled and the abolition of the locker system."
