It ia stated that Colonel Allen Bell, commanding the Second Regiment of the Auckland Mounted Sides, lias been instructed by the Defence Department to procoed to England to undergo a six months' course of training, in military duties. Colonel Bell will probably leave Now Zealand about the middle of May, returning about 1911.—Press Aβbocintion. . A sale of old pictures collected by the late Mr Erie Drax, of Wye, Kent, realised ,£12,912. A panel by Rubens fetched 880 guineas and a rocky river scene by Ruysdaol 1200 gnintas. A bargain was eecured by the purchasers of "a woody landscape with sportsman and dog, for which they paid 100 guineas. After tt layer of dirt had been removed the signatnro and date of "J. Rnysdael, 1660," were revealed in tho left-hand corner. No real need to be tronbfed with iioughs and colds. Keep Dingo Eucalyptus in the house, and take a few drops on sugar when you suspect a coid.
