ALLEOED ATTEMPTED SUICIDE
V"A case,of alleged attempted suicide occurred at Newtown last night. James xord, of Riddifnrd Street, said to be a casual" employee of the City Council, was found by her returning to her homo at-about IUS p.m.—lying on a bed with his throat cut. Dr. Boirer-bank-.waa called in, and put in a number of stitches, alter which Ford was removed,to the Hospital, where, as far as can be-learned, there.is a good chanco of'.his. recovery.. There are indications that the' wounds ■ were inflicted with' a razor.' ,Ford, who-is nbout fifty years of- age.iwas formerly in South Africa, and suffered thero from enteric fever, from., tho after-effects of .which, it ie belidved, he has not fully recovered.
