(Prom Qnr Special Correspondent.) Palmorston North, April 9. , Hie annual meeting of the Manalvatu Hockey Association' was held last night, Mr. H. Watts being in Sho chair. Tho newly-formed Palmerston Club was admitted to the association. The report and balance were read and adopted. The balance-sheet showed the receipts amounted to £60 17s. 7d., and oxpeuditure £54 7s. 4d., 'leaving a sum to credit of £6 10s. 3d. 'Die election of officers was as follows:—Patron, Mr. J. A. Nash; president, Mr. H. B. Cooper; vice-presidents, Messrs. H. M. Siminonds, F. W. , Garner H. Watt, W. F. Denward; secretary, Mr. A. Kersl'ake; treasurer. Mr. G. Watchorn; auditor, Mx. fi. K. Swallow; delegate to New Zealand Hockey Association,. Mr. E. Norden; executive, Messrs. Walkley, Kerslake, Anderson, and Primrose; representative team selectors, Messrs. Crump, Garner, and Boe. ■ , . The benefit entertainment to ?»lr. C. Leamington, the blind resident of Palmerston, in the Opera House last night, was most successful, except that: the audience might have been larger. An excellent programme was rendered, most of the items being encored. The concert will result in a profit of about £25. _ The- local Horticultural Society hold a committee meoting last night, when Further arrangements were made in' connection with tho show to be hold on April aS. Applications for schedules are being received from Auckland, Wellington, and Hawko's Bay, and tho «how promises to be highly successful.
