There were also* present: Messrs'.'L.' R.' Bry,'ant, ■■ H/ J.'ii A. .B.arber, r ;. A. r '.Harding; Captain Hewitt, Ales." Farmer, A.. Matheson,. and J. W'ingate. Notification was received from tho provincial secretary that' the annual provincial conference would be held at Marton on May. 24 next, and that notices oi incition for tho confercnce.prder paper must be sent" in before' May 10. The, Dominion ssecretary forwarded reports of meetings held' at Gisborne by the Gisborhe.'branch of the union, and the resolutions passed with reference to haying' Government grading of mutton exported from the Dominion in the samo imahnef- as butter, cheese, and hemp ■are how,: graded. The Gisborne branch asked for the views of.farmers in this district. Several members .spoke in favour of the proposal.'
