A lady who farms 300 acres in Canada stated at a London dinner that at tho end of her third year's working she made £2 for every £1 sho spent, although it was not a good year. Women she went on, grumbled becauso' everything was not open, to-them, but they forgot that tho one thing always open to them was trade; She was taking out four pupils, and after a. year's tuition at a premium of £52 each they would take up their own land. During the twenty-five years I have work«d for the tempernuce cause I havo not seen any sensible diminution of drunkenness among women. Drunkenness and drug-taking among women are rather on the increase.—Lady Henry Somerset. For Children's Hacking Congh at night, Woods' Great Peppermint Cure, Is. 6d 2s. fld.—Advt.
