Wedding at St. Paul's. , On Thursday morning at St. Paul's Pro-Cathedral Miss Vida Firth, fourth daughter of Mrs. Firth, was married to Mr. Andrew Thompson, of town. The Rev. T. H. Sprott officiated. The bride wore a frock of white chiffon taffetas, with a bridal wreath and veil, and she was attended by three bridesmaids, Miss Myra Firth, her sister; Miss Annie Thompson, and Miss Jean' Thompson, sisters of the bridegroom. The elder bridesmaids wore frocks of blue satin charmeuse, and blue picture hats, and the little maid wore a white frock with a little Dutch bonnet. After the ceremony a' wedding breakfast was served at the Hotel Windsor, the home of the bride's mother, and later on 'Mr. and Mrs. Thompson left for a trip to Hawke's Bay. Their future home will be in Queenstown.
A Wanganui Wedding. At St. John's Church, Wanganui, on Tuesday . afternoon, Miss Olive Eliza-, beth Allen, only' daughter of Mr. William Allen, of Makirikiri' Valley, was married'to Norman, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Hodder, of Wanganui. The ceremony was, performed' by the Rev. Mr. Jacobs. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a lovely frock of cream silk taffeta, with veil and orange blossoms. The bridesmaids, the Misses Constance and Eva Hodder, sisters of the bridegroom, wore white silk empire frocks, and large white . silk, hats ' trimmed with white ospreys, and : carried shepherds' crooks decorated with flowers and knobs of pink and white ribbon. The third bridesmaid, ;little Majdry Anderson, cousin of the bride, wore white silk with a becoming little bonnet to match, and carried, a basket of flowers. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr:■ Leslie Hodder, as best man.; After the. ceremony, • the guests drove to Dustin's, Ltd., where the reception was held, and a' very enjoyable time was spent. The bride's travelling frock was a tailor-made wine-coloured cloth worn with a wine-coloured hat with white ostrich feather. A Napier Wedding. The wedding of Miss Maud Heywood Tonkin, eldest daughter of Captain J. 0. Tonkin, of Napier, to Mr. Albert O'Meara; son of the'- late Mr." J. O'Meara, M.H.R., was quietly celebrated in the Napier Cathedral on Wednesday, Canon Mayne officiating. The bride wore a cream serge coat and skirt, with a white chiffon vest and hat trimmed with chiffon and wings.' She carried a white' bouquet and was attended by Miss. Margaret Tonkin, who was dressed in a cream coat and skirt, 'with cream chiffon vest, and wore a hat trimmed with white and amethyst.' ;Mr. A. M'Carthy was best man. Wedding at Hastings. .'At St. Matthew's Chuich, Hastings, Mrs.'Catherine N. Peddie, daughter of the late Mr. Peddie, was married .-.'to. .Mr.\Frank Godfrey Neill, of ,DunednC The bride wore a charmingly _ simple >yhite empire gown over glace silk, and a hat with white ostrich plumes. She was attended by two bridesmaids, her sister,' Miss B. Peddie, and her niece, Miss* Winifred. .Miller, ■ both -of. whom wbre^;erAptie :r fr6'ok"s!.,of white embroidered„muslin, over blue glace silk, and white hats trimmed with blue. The bride was given away by her brother, •Mr. A'. D. Peddie,- and the bridegroorii was supported by Mr. T. Peddie and Mr. Eric Neill. The bridegroom's present to the bride was a gold'watch-and chain, and to the- bridesmaids pearl pendants and gold chains. The bride's present; to the bridegroom was a handsome travelling rug. A reception was afterwards held at ,the residence'of the bride's* mother, where over 100 guests were entertained.- Mr. and Mrs. Neill afterwards left for Wanganui.
An Afternoon Tea. . The Pioneer Club occasionally grants the Use of'its, large reception-room to individual members, and yesterday, af-. ternoon Mrs. Corliss gave a most enjoyable' tea there in honour .of her guest, Mrs. Longford, from Dunedin, when among the many visitors were a number of .officers and members of the Wellington branch of ' the : Victoria League, who were very glad of_the opportunity to meet the vice-president of the Dunedin branch. The room was beautifully decorated with quantities of pink and crimson flowers, pink and red dahlias, and pink belladonna, lilies,, autumn foliage, and ipalms. There was some delightful music during tie afternoon, '■ Mrs. Matheson and Miss May Newman sang several songs, Miss Har-dinge-Maltby recited, and Mrs. Findlay and Miss Stock played. Mrs. Corliss received in a frock of black silk with yoke of cream lace, and trimming of "delicately-coloured embroidery, and, a black hat with" white plume. Mrs. Longford wore a black silk coat over her black gown, and a black bonnet trimmed with jet. Mrs., J. Findlay wore a Russian costume of dark blue velvet, plumed hat and set of ermine. Mrs. D. M. Findlay, sapphire blue silk, with Oriental .trimming and a black hat.' Among other guests. were Lady Ward, Mrs. Longford, Mrs. and Miss Butt, Mrs. H. Babies' Aid Society. A meeting of the Society for the Protection of the Health of Women and Children was held in the Town Hall yesterday ' afternoon, Dr. Platts-Mills being in the chair. ■ There were present : Mrs. Young, Mrs. W. J. Grey, Mrs. Walton, Mrs.-Lewy, and Mrs. M'Vicar. Apologies for : absence were received from several, members. The minutes- of the last meeting were read and confirmed, and accounts amounting to £18 Is. were passed for-payment. .The resignation of the hon. treasurer, Mrs. Etherington, owing to her leaving Wellington, was accepted with regret, and Mrs. S. Kirkcaldie was elected in her place. A great deal of routine business was gone through, and arrangements werO made to hold the annual meoting shortly. The nurses', report was very, satisfactory.
Y.W.C.A. Bazaar. Yesterday afternoon and evening the Young Women's Christian Association bazaar in Ghuznee Street continued. The stalls are laden with .beautiful,and muoh-to-be-desired articles, but 'the stall-holders did not yesterday receive all the encouragement they expected, and it is to be hoped that their friends will make the most of tho opportunities provided this afternoon and .evening. The bazaar will remain open till nine this evening, and the afternoon will offer several special attractions for the children. Miss SybilJohnsOn's entertainment was repeated last night with much, success, and Miss Muriel Bennett sang two sorigs.

St. Paul's. Dorcas Society. The annual meeting of the St. Paul's." Dorcas /Society was held yesterday afternoon, when the report and-'bal-' ance-sheet were Tead and passed. The report showed that 299 garments badbeen'-' iade.for the poor during the. year,-and seven tons of coal, which had. been given to the society," had been dis-r. tributed.
