Mothes, J.P.'s, one 'first offender on a charge of drunkenness was fined 55., in default 24 hours' imprisonment. selling tobacco to a yonth under tie age of 15 years, Lewis Truman was convicted and discharged. ■ l . Tho police prosecuted Francis Comefl, Victor Morris, F. G. Halse, W. F. Ronnie, and J. L. Morrison, for riding, bicycles after sundown without lighteDefendants in each, case were finedosl and 7s. costs.. J. W. Beatty (for whom Mr. Wilson appeared), who was charged wif& cruelty to cattle, was ordered to pay 10s., with 18s. ooste, and "witness's expenses ss. A prohibition order wasissued agaJißt a local resident. The borough inspector (W. B. Gougn) brought actions against J. Harrop and Kum Lee, for keeping unregistered dogs. Both were fined 2s: 6d., wjii 7s. costs. J. H. Jones, for a'sumlar offence, was fined;ss., and 7s. costs. For allowing cattle to wander, T. Coffeej and J. Maxwell -were each fined'. B&, with 7s. costs, and witnesses' expenset 2s. 6d. .'■ - -* ' .-. ■ The tenth annzal meeting of the Petone Junior Club was held in the crabi rooms last night. Mr. W. G. Fraser, president, occupied the chair,, and there was a good attendance'. .■.;. - \' ■ The annual report, which appeared.vin yesterday's issue, was adopted. The balance-sheet, which was also adopted, showed that the receipts for the year amounted to £311165. 7d., and the expenditure to £303 12s. lOi, leaving a credit .balance of £8; 3s. 9<Lj whilst the balance of' assets over liabilities was £269 16s. Mr. W. G. Fraser was unairrmoiifily re-elected president. The following other- officers were elected for the enV suing year:—Vice-presidents, Messrfr H. J. Palmer, (re-elected), H.' V. LodV der, and A. Ross .(re-elected); hon. secretary, Mr. F. Dolling; hon. treasurer, Mr. H. Caverhill; auditor, Mr. J. Thompson; general committee, Messrs. H: Thompson, W. Taylor, A. Nuttall, H. Ryan, B. Howe, and E. Lepper. :
