Peel and core the apples, . place them in the syrup; and cook until tender, but not broken; set them aside to cool. Cut the sponge cakes in two, lay an apple on each piece, eoak • with syrup, stick them with almonds, and put red, jelly on the top. Jteur the custard, round. • . •
