SWIMMING.
I MEETING OP WELLINGTON ....CENTRE.' There was:, a good deal of discussion at tho meeting of the Wellington Centre of the N.Z.A.S.A. on Monday evening with reference to the proposal to establish a life-saving and surf club. It was eventually decided that a mooting ,bo convened by the chairman' of the centre with the object of forming such a club, and that Messrs. Shields and Ludwig be authorised to arrange with the Mayor as to details. It was agreed, on .the motion of Mr. G. S. Hill, that the centre protest against the action of the N.Z.A.S.A.. in ignoring tho recommendations of a conference of delegates from swimming centres held in Auckland in February last. Messrs. B. 0. Freyberg, Hill, and .the chairman were appointed a committee to draft a lottor to tho council on the subject. Y.M.C.A. CLUB'S CROUCH CUP. At the Te Aro Baths on Monday opening R. Baker defeated W. G. Morpeth in a race to decide who should havo tho Y.M.C.A. Club's Crouch Cup. Baker gave Morpeth Usee, start, and won by two yards in 72 3-ssec RESULT OP TEAMS- HANDICAP. A 150 yards t«ims handicap hold at the Thorndon Baths on Monday evening was won by W. Wiggins, E. Donovan; and E.
